A referral agency

Maid in America is a San Diego domestic referral agency. It is our job as an agency to screen housecleaners and refer a suitable housecleaner to you, with the skill and personality to suit your needs. Maid in America is not the employer of the domestic worker it refers to you. Depending on your arrangement with the domestic worker, you may have employer responsibilities.

Planning your cleaning

Because every home is different in size, condition and decor, we recommend an "order of importance" list so that the most important tasks are completed first. Larger homes, or homes that need more attention, may need extra time, which we will talk through with you when you book.

Supplies

For move-in, move-out and spring cleaning, the house cleaner comes equipped for the task. For regular maintenance cleaning, the homeowner's cleaning products are used unless an additional supplies fee has been arranged in advance.

Cancellations

Your house cleaner is an independent professional who depends on scheduled hours for income. Please give 48 hours' notice to reschedule or cancel an appointment. Cancellations with less than 48 hours' notice are billed at the quoted rate.

Payment

Payment is made at the time of service by cash, Visa, MasterCard, or a check made out to "Maid in America".

Keys and access

We recommend that you do not give your home key directly to the house cleaner. Make your own arrangement for access, such as a lockbox, a hidden key or a neighbor.

Pets

Pets should be introduced on the first visit, and unfriendly pets kept outside. For health reasons, house cleaners do not pick up pet waste.
